Temporary Works at Scrabo Road, Newtownards (2017)

A temporary cut was required below the busy Scrabo Road in Newtownards for the installation of a geogrid reinforced slope system retaining up to 5.50m in the permanent condition. In order to prevent settlement of the road the stages of the temporary works were strictly time limited. The Stabilisure soil nails were able to be installed rapidly to stabilise the cut and to fix a steel mesh to the face that would protect workers at the toe from any debris.
