This project was located in Derrygonnelly Road in Enniskillen in Northern Ireland. Here, at the back of the site a large cutting was made to make way for several properties on this housing development. With the help of Maccaferri’s MacMat R for erosion protection, Stabilisure Geopins where used to reinforce the facing of this slope which consisted of a firm CLAY overlying a Limestone bedrock. This project was completed in approximately 3 weeks with two labours in an elevated working platform. Access to the lane above remained open during the works.

Stabilisure were chosen for this project as a low cost alternative to traditional rotary bored and grouted soil nails. An additional advantage for this project was that the geopins alone provided sufficient fixing for the MacMat R without any additional fixing pins, which would have likely required rope access trained operatives to install.
